A Type of Type

This project aimed to create a type specimen which demonstrated ’Negative Space Type’ found within my environment. I began to observe various typefaces in my environment before looking at the one which caught my interest which was typography produced using negative space. I used the traditional photography medium of photograms to create the specimen. The poster used negative words to bring the theme and type categorisation of ‘Negative Type’ together. Also demonstrated are some experiments using the traditional photography technique of photograms, which uses stencils and light exposure in a dark room to create the final type specimen poster.
