Achieving comedic effects in Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones' Diary

This university presentation focused on the stylistic effects used in the 1996 bestselling novel "Bridget Jones' Diary". I discussed the novel's use of grammar, such as pronouns, ranging from progressive to nominative. I also analysed the author's use of hyphenation and how it creates a character's voice and comedic effect, and finished the presentation with an analysis of sentence length and how it reflects the setting and character emotions.
