Collection inspired by the life and death of Edie Sedgwick, that exams the cult of celebrity and its perils. Edie Sedgwick was Andy Warhol’s muse and friend and one of his most famous superstar. She starred in many Warhol movies, as the “poor rich girl”, and became a main character in the Factory silver world. Fame made her feel loved, but she was soon forgotten e left in an oblivion of drugs and self-distruction. The collection wants to analyse the doble face of celebrity, that hides ruin and disintegration behind a patina of perfection. The main tool to pursue this aim is a series of prints inspired by pop-art and particularly by Warhol’s work. Pop symbols characterising each design are modified to create an unpleasant sense of disorder.
