Alan Turing (2015) This one of a kind portrait was created with the blood donated by over 15 medical professionals, who are legally not allowed to donate their blood due to current bans on the LGBT blood donations. As an artist (squeamish to blood), I found it incredibly challenging to paint, both technically and combating the emotional feelings I coursing through me while creating it.
It received national recognition and I was invited to bring it to the House of Commons when relative merit was being debated.
