Alex Booker

Alex Booker

Alex Booker is a leading woodcut-relief print artist, based in the Limehouse Arts Foundation, were he runs the Booker Print House. His work explores the properties of ink and wood, and is often influenced by his long-standing fascination with ships, shipwrecks and the sea. Trained at the University of Brighton and Camberwell College of Arts, Alex has exhibited his print artworks internationally, – notably at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition; created wallpaper for WeTransfer; and worked with the likes of Ma-tt-er and PATTERNITY on art and design events, including London Design Festival. As well as producing artworks and a range of greetings cards (available from Clerkenwell London and The Z List), Alex runs regular woodcut printing workshops in his studio, offering a hands-on introduction into one of our most ancient forms of image-making.
