Overview Alexandra Palace is a seminal cauldron of British leisure and pleasure: birthplace of the BBC, launchpad to countless iconic acts, originally opened by Queen Victoria as a ‘palace for the people’. Yet over the years, its brand had fallen into disrepair. It had become a bit non-existent and lacking in energy. We needed to better surface the heritage to a modern audience, honouring its significance as a home for pop culture and entertainment, but also reflecting its eclectic present-day programming. The process We started with a thorough review of the existing brand, its strengths and weaknesses and what it meant to the disparate customer groups as well as the internal teams. Settling on a rich visual language supported by a tone of voice that could be dialled up and down when needed. We ensured it could work in a multitude of applications, big and small. From merchandise to signage, digital communications and event campaigns. Thorough guidelines and a cross-company sell-in were key to securing long-term success.
