Ame no oto

  • Alazne Arratibel

This collection takes its shapes from the traditional Japanese way of writing "the sound of rain". The collection is based on various artistic interpretations of this word using the technique known as sōsho ("cursive"), the use of which allows the calligraphy artist to have a more creative approach and leave a personal imprint. Each piece represents a stroke of one of the three kanji that compounds the set. Hence, the full meaning of the collection stays unseen unless all eight objects are put together.
