An ode to the Wonky pot.

Celebrating craft. This is a project that aims to highlight the beauty of the wonky pot. Pottery classes have gained popularity in recent years. Research shows it could be to do with people trying to find an escape from technology. When exploring the craft I noticed its almost always the expert potter and the pristine pots are those that are celebrated. Yet when I attended my ‘beginner to throwing workshop’ I found I was more attracted to the discarded, holey pots, if you can quite call them that. For this project, I aimed to celebrate those pots and the beauty of learning to throw, tackling a new skill, and enjoying it regardless of the final outcome.
