An Online Museum of Gothic Film

This online museum explores cinematic depictions of Gothic tropes, namely in Guillermo del Toro’s 2015 film Crimson Peak and other comparable works of the 20th and 21st century. Elements central to the Gothic genre such as the Gothic mansion, Gothic heroine, and doubling are explored through the analysis and curation of film stills and consideration of cinematic techniques. Each explored topic showcases images that exhibit the various components of selected films, such as costume, setting and colour.
