Anatomy and Physiology

  • Aimee MacKenzie

This project was an exploration of scars, and of the medically standardised understanding of human anatomy. Both of the subjects have undergone extensive surgery to their hands, but continue to work with them in very physical ways- despite the variation from the perceived norm, they are capable of functioning in their chosen fields, and excel at what they do. In exhibition, these were accompanied by statements from the subjects on the circumstances of their surgery, and the affects on their lives. Digital prints, A1. Exhibited at London Gallery West
