Angel

  • Rebecca Goh

an interdisciplinary show influenced by The Bacchae, that interweaves Expressionist dance motifs, metatheatrics, Ancient Greek cheironomia, socio-political commentary, and haunting poetry. In association with Maenad Theatre Collective. Angel is a Bacchanalian tragedy of Ancient proportions, flung kicking and screaming into the modern day. It is a brutal and ecstatic take on the politics of rebellion and family, youth in revolt, and the fallacies of extreme ideology on either ends of the spectrum today. Staged at The Water Rats Pub and Theatre as part of the 2019 Camden Fringe Festival.
