This was an event I spearheaded and brought to life with the support of an on campus non-profit organization called H.E.A.T. Students and faculty gathered to educate themselves on the issue of human trafficking and give them an opportunity to do something about it.
In under a month, we put together an event that had a panel discussion, a dance multimedia presentation by Bluebird:Uncaged based on a book called White Umbrella, and the opportunity to participate in the "Dear Beautiful" Campaign by A21 to send letter of love to survivors.
Although the event was small, it was a huge success. The Founder of the H.E.A.T. Organization was there and awarded our HEAT Chapter with the "Most Creative Campaign" the following year at conference.
The President of the university also attended and praised our work, and we were featured in the school newspaper!
