Arduino "Etch a Sketch"

  • Isaac Watson
Brief
Using an Arduino circuit board and computer coding design an interactive product that utilises two or more components controlled by user input.
Solution
A motor driven ‘Etch a Sketch’ controlled by two potentiometers. The design is based on the principals of an XY plotter. One potentiometer controls forwards and backwards motion and the other controls left to right. As the potentiometer is turned the speed of the motor increases relatively. The drawing arm can hold any pen. The user is then able to mechanically draw any image they desire. The outputted drawings consist of lots of small straight lines creating very unique pictures.
