Arresting Folium : Occasionwear : Men : Jacket

This project was to create textile designs for Men's tailored occasionwear - an investment piece. In these visualisations the fabric designs are for jackets, both wool twill and velvet. The inspiration for my collection is my Scottish rural environment, in particular the trees and their leaves, combined with surreal colours for a sense of escapism. I was drawn to the mid century designers and in particular the beginnings of the Pop movement - post war these designers were also driven by a sense of escape and a desire for change. Our lives are so digital, particularly during lockdown, I wanted to retain a craft approach. It was really important to me to create designs that looked as though they were printed by hand, with colours overlapping and layers not quite lining up.
