The Art Noir series of works was inspired by film noir. The images depict film noir themes such as crime, suspense and psychological drama. In a similar way to Ben's previous work, the images are intended to act as snapshots of a wider narrative. They are an entry point for the viewer to overlay their own experiences and ideas of what the story might be.
The presentation of the images splices photo documentation and 'looking-glass' media to give a sense of magic realism.
