But the ‘see now buy now’ pace of fashion week means you no longer have to wait a whole season to emulate your favourite designer look.
The high street is forever becoming more and more in tune with what’s going to be the next big fashion craze, so we’ve put together a helpful guide of the trends to add to your wardrobe now.

Despite its timelessness, we never get tired of seeing how designers rework this classic. From the ageless Prince of Wales check to tartan and windowpane, it’s a trend that can be kept minimal, but also looks great in bold, statement colours.

Shades of beige
As dull as it sounds, beige is a colour trend that is easy to pull off and can look incredibly high end, even in high street pieces. If you’re going for a head-to-toe look, remember to play with textures to prevent your outfit from looking flat.

Statement Coats
Just one of these is all you need to bring some life to an outfit. Statement doesn’t have to mean bright and graphic; it can also refer to a detail that puts a twist on what would be a rather understated coat. Look out for exaggerated cuffs and collars, or wide belting.

Black velvet
Where we once saw black velvet as very Morticia Adams, it has now made its way onto the catwalk and actually, we couldn’t be happier. Velvet is appealing as its a fabric which can be dressed down in the day, but looks even more amazing as evening wear.

Bold colour pop
It’s always nice to see colour making such a big statement during Autumn/Winter fashion weeks. Not only does it inspire us to brighten up our current wardrobes in preparation for Spring, but means our favourite colourful pieces last into the winter months. Experiment with what works for you, and play with some colour blocking combinations.
