A BRITISH woman who battled polar bears and 70mph winds has becoming the fastest female to reach the North Pole.
Stephanie Brimacombe, 26, from Devon, completed the 350-mile Polar Challenge in 12 days, nine hours and 40 minutes, along with boyfriend Rupert Nicholson and pal Tom Williams. Stephanie said: “We were in a really bad way. We were exhausted, dehydrated and almost at the end of our ability to carry on.
“But we were absolutely determined that we were going to get there in that final stretch.”
