Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy

At a time when arts and cultural organisations face serious financial challenges and the sector reports a shortage of fundraising expertise, the Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy (AFP) Programme is a welcome change.

The Arts Council England funded Programme aims to transform fundraising across the arts and cultural sector, through the delivery of training, coaching and traineeships.

The AFP Fellowships, one strand of the wider AFP programme, were created as a partnership between Cause4 and the DARE Fundraising Academy, a unique collaboration between Opera North and the University of Leeds, together with the leading arts and education organisations across London, the South West and the North of England.

The 12-month Fellowships are a rare opportunity to learn on the job from experts in the field, supported by a diverse and intensive training and learning programme including a bursary to attend the National Arts Fundraising School, run by the Management Centre. All Fellows are mentored, trained and gain hands-on experience in the many facets of fundraising and are expected to make a real contribution to their host.
