Exploring the impact of Georgian landscape gardener, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown’s work on black, asian and minority ethnic communities from the past to modern day. Six artists (Myah Jeffers, Kamil Kamikaze, Jose Cifuentes, Ruvimbo Gumbochuma, Jordanne Cameron & Letisha Stewart-Green) were commissioned to explore the political, social and economic conditions surrounding the era of Brown’s work at Warwick Castle particularly focussing on the impact of the transatlantic slave trade. We exhibited the artists work in Warwick Castle on the 1st of October 2015 to celebrate Black History Month, and explore black histories that aren't often spoken about. I produced, selected and commissioned the artists and final exhibition / showcase and supported historical research days with artists, writers and Warwick Castle.
