Audi Unite Project

At Hyper Island we work with real life clients, and last year we were given the opportunity to work with Audi Unite. Audi Unite is a car sharing service that allows you to co own cars within a specific circle. We were challenged by Audi to create a new strategy for how to help people find a perfect circle according to their preferences.

Research
Today Audi recieves a personal description only in text from their customers and from that they look for matches. We wanted to optimize the digital access for Audi customers to connect easily with other potential circle members as well as making it easier for Audi to create matches. We also wanted Audi to focus on the environment and promote a sustainable choice as the demand for green cars are growing rapidly. Audi saw great opportunities with our ideas, but were worried about additional costs and would have wanted even more personalized choices.
Solution
We created new vital features such as more specific preferences, added categories of choice and a new schedule to compare driving habits and how much they would need the car. The new features also included a chat function so that customers could reach eachother without Audi’s involvement. As the app was not available to Android users, we created an online community on the website so it would be accessible to anyone wanting to join Audi Unite. We also created a sustainable solution in the form of animated campaign billboards that would be featured in Stockholms most central subway stations. The campaign would focus on Audi’s new electrical cars as an addition to the already existing Audi Unite fleet and promote a more sustainable choice.
My role
The first day I focused on creating a realistic timeline for the project as well as building a team structure and a digital strategy. I interviewed the people from Audi Unite, their users and researched shared services and shared economy. I also looked at other car services and compared it with Audis green alternatives. The second day I planned our ideation and developed the specific concepts. The third and last day I focused on copywriting, finalizing our pitch and assisted in helping with the UX and design to transform our ideas into great visuals.
