As part of my final university project studying graphic design at Brighton. I looked and research the future visualisation of music and how designs could and should become more visual to accommodate todays technologies. I created and experimented with interactive and animated album covers as well as audio-visual videos that work with the bands sound. Many audio-visual such as that of iTunes are fixed and do not work well with many types of music. My idea was to make specific audio-visuals for specific bands. These audio visuals could be displayed instead of album covers, which is better suited to vinyl and tangible goods. While audio-visual work will better designed for modern devices such as tablets/ phones / computers and VR.
For this audio-visual I chose the song Black Grease by the Black Angels and was heavily inspired by music videos for the Arctic Monkeys, 'Do you wanna know' direction by David Wilson and Album covers such as Joy Divisions Unknown Pleasures, by Peter Saville
