Autumn

  • Neil Hughes

Autumn marks the end of summer and is often seen as a low season. People recoil physically and mentally in preparation for the cold season ahead. It is also a great time to reflect and take care of oneself and loved ones. The image shows Autumn holding onto her baby bump, nurturing for the arrival of her baby Summer. Covering a number of techniques from concept art, model making, painting, costume sewing, set design, photography and computer editing to complete the final illustration. My models are made using air dry clay, plaster cast, fabrics, acrylic paints, feathers and other found materials. Wire armatures and changeable facial features allow for the models to pose and display a variety of movements and expressions.
