AW20 | Hanoi36Streets

Travelling across 36 streets of Hanoi Ancient Quarters, where the past and present intertwine on a daily basis, this project explores the long-standing trading and vendor culture and pays tribute to the traditional caraftsmanship behind the vibrant storefronts of the area. Research particularly focuses on the bamboo weaving techniques and the bulky silhouette of the tirelessly hard-working street vendors, which have been translated into abstract quilted textiles and oversized silhouettes respectively for this contemporary collection.
