Bacchus. Still Life.

  • Sean Hayes

I've always loved the craft and discipline of the old Dutch masters in still life painting. Willem Claesz. Heda (1594 -1682) is a particular favourite. His mastery of light and composition inspired me to art direct and photograph my own still life. I've titled the photograph Bacchus, after the Roman god of grape-harvest, winemaking and wine, of fertility, ritual madness, religious ecstasy, and theatre. My creation celebrating the sensuality of the senses in still life. If you are looking for a photographer/art director who cares about craft, please DM me.
