Barcelona’s Eixample, approved around 1859, is the work of engineer Ildefons Cerda. The city’s urban extensions are one of the most accurate representations of the nature of an industrial city. It is believed that it simply holds an outstanding design project which has been brilliantly executed. The quality of the district’s extension urban development project was an exceptional and unique take on social spaces to exist in contemporary urban planning that is cohesively introducing elements of inclusivity within society. The publication concentrates on the historical construction of the Eixample. Using various digital methods to produce and communicate an awareness of a socially cohesive architectural design. I created visual compositions with the help of found collage specific to Barcelona as a city. Its contrasting topologies are reflected within the chosen typography which experiments with deconstructive properties.
