The main idea behind my image is to use elements of fashion, still life and advertising photography which is the field I work in at the moment and one highly considered as “low art” to raise questions about the online world and social media platforms and its surreal visual characteristics. I’m curious in understanding how we came to be so used to see headless people, torsos, body pieces in general. In addition, I hope I can also talk about photography and it’s language of communication. In special the photographer’s ability to slice reality, hiding or accenting features, something or someone in the image in order to convey a message which often sparks a feeling, which where the online world is concerned I believe those are mostly feelings of desire that will lead to profit. To what extent is photography responsible for or contributed to shape up our avatar, online world?
