Belonging Exhibition displays the work of students and staff from London College of Communication. The concept questions what “belonging” means to you in today’s world of increasing internationals and travel, as well as debates around nations, immigration, refugees and even the Internet. Our Project dealt with the many small aspects within the concept of 'belonging'. By creating an investigation file, we wanted to scrutinize the meaning of belonging through various perspectives. It includes interviews of people, explaining what it means for them to belong and what it entails in their personal experience and daily lives. Further we looked at belonging through a social media lense and the contradicting aspect of how one present himself online/ on the outside and how they actually feel from the inside. Through showing cutouts from socially acclaimed films, we aimed to illustrate how the idea of 'belonging' is potrayed culturally and how it manifests itself in society.
