Bergamo per i giovani

  • Sara Poljak

Bergamo per i giovani (Bergamo for young people) is an organisation that aims to propose and promote projects, initiatives and events dedicated to young people, in order to encourage their participation in the city life and facilitate access to work opportunities. It is divided in different spaces where young people from Bergamo are given an active role in designing initiatives, activities and services that concern them, as well as tools to express themselves.

The inspiration for the new visual identity came from the four historic city gates of Bergamo and the colours of Bergamo’s coat of arms. The gate is a threshold, an opening, a space for communication that represents a flow of ideas, energies and reflections of young people. As well as the colours belonging to the city’s historic identity, they are also primary colours, that when mixed can produce all the other colors. This is a metaphor that describes this organisation and everything it does.
The BPG website is imagined as a “box” to be filled with various contents that the organisation is creating and offering. The design is aimed to be very clean and tidy in order to organise different kinds of contents into groups which can be browsed in a more user-friendly way.
Billboards representing the new logo were designed, printed and spread around the town of Bergamo, sending the positive and friendly message to everyone: Bergamo is here for its young people.
