In occasion of the Roman art week, Pavart Gallery presented the duo painting art exhibition entitled 'Between land and sea, journey of souls' curated by Velia Littera, a dialogue between two talented contemporary artists, Stefano Trappolini and Nino De Luca. Both have dedicated their lives to art, seeking to express through it their visions of the world. Visitors found themselves immersed in a world of suggestions and reflections, enveloped in an atmosphere that combined the land where souls walk, and the infinite mysteriousness of the sea. It is the beginning of a journey, an artistic journey, that lead them to imagine human experiences and emotions, to discover a 'Journey of Souls'. Between artist and viewer there was connection that went beyond words. The curator has made a very precise and fascinating choice by selecting two artistic languages that celebrate, one warm colours and the other cold colours in all their expressive richness. The use of colours in art has always been a powerful tool for communicating deep feelings and complex stories, and with this exhibition we find ample representation of this concept. Trappolini's red, brown or orange represent the earth, the nature, the love up to the deep human pain. Each brushstroke conveys a story of roots, stability, longing and suffering, a shedding intense light on the vastness of human experience. Stefano Trappolini captures the nuances of human emotions in his paintings. His silhouettes evoke the journey and determination of people seeking a different future. The artist highlights the inner strength, courage and resilience of those who embark on their journey towards hope. His canvases explore the stability and vitality of the earth, becoming a meditation on our connection to the earth we walk on. De Luca's dominant blues, on the other hand, open the door to a world of equally complex sensations. The sea reveals itself in colours, in materials, in the abstract, it evokes the serenity of calm and beautiful waters, but also the mystery of unknown abysses. Danger creeps in, casting a shadow of suspense and tension. Fears emerges, fear of the journey, fear of unknown destinations, fear of not reaching the other side, fear of death. De Luca's canvases invite us to contemplate the infinite, to reflect on the greatness of the universe and us, tiny living beings that inhabit it. Nino De Luca transforms the sea into a living, dynamic force; his canvases evoke its beauty but also the stark reality of pollution and the tragedies that occur in it. The artworks of these two artists, displayed in this exhibition, merge into a multi-sensory experience, a journey through land, sea and souls that celebrates the power of nature, human determination and the unknown of the future. 'Between Land and Sea, journey of Souls' is a 'vibe' that goes beyond visual art and extends into the sphere of the human soul. It is an invitation to take an intimate travel, to explore one's own emotionality and to discover the deep meaning of human existence between land and sea, which has been characterised by continuous evolution, from the first coastal communities to the age of exploration and the modern global economy. This relationship between humanity and the sea has a significant impact in history, culture, economics and environment, and continues to shape our world in a complex and profound way. Not least the tragedies that have occurred in our seas. The artworks on display can inspire reflection, stimulate debate and influence social change, thus contributing to our understanding and navigation of ethical challenges in society.
