From May 1st – 7th 2016 Düsler Akademisi/Dreams Academy hosted a group of eight people with disabilities and their two carers from, Behindertenzentrum Stuttgart/bhz“ for summer camp. The "Dreams Academy" (www.duslerakademisi-kas.org/en) opened its camp in Kas, which targets people with disabilities. The camp is situated on a hill, about 15 minutes driving from Kas and 2,5 hours from Dalaman. It provides everything that is required for a successful summer camp: A big house (a former school, which was renovated ecologically) that offers space to conduct a wide range of activities, a separate building for the kitchen, houses for group-accommodation and for the volunteers, a stage for concerts and theatre and a music-studio. Although almost barrier-free, there are still some things that must be improved. The ground is very hilly, which makes it difficult for wheelchair users. In spite of this, the group experienced a wonderful program, which included swimming in the sea, horseback riding, walks on the beach, hikes, boat rides, sightseeing tours, music- and paint-sessions, concerts, an invitation to a Turkish wedding and much more. Many volunteers helped to make the whole program accessible for each participant, regardless of his or her particular disability.
