It’s so cold, I can hardly feel my trigger finger. The numbing pain disappears as quickly as it sets in, with the excitement of seeing David Hockney’s new work for Apple projected onto the chimneys of Battersea Power Station. The year could not have finished with a bigger bang thanks to Apple, who offered me this dream collaboration. I have had a soft spot for Battersea Power Station ever since I first photographed it back in 2009, so it felt very fitting to return to the iconic building to photograph David Hockney’s latest work, Bigger Christmas Trees, illuminating the two chimneys on the power station’s north façade. Thank you to Apple for the collaboration. Thank you to my brilliant digital operator, Mark Hill, for braving the cold with me, and thank you to Giles Angel for his retouching magic. And lastly but by no means least, thank you to Lisa and Chloe from Lisa Pitchard Agency for all their invaluable support from start to finish.
