During the last semester at Billy Blue CoD in the course ‘Design and Business’, me and a team of 5 other students created ‘BigSister’; a service based business. The sole purpose of its existence is to provide women with peace of mind when travelling alone. This was done through the introduction of a smartphone application that provides personalised support features to each individual. These features included human contact through a call centre, an information database for travel ‘risk levels’ and recommendations as well as emergency reactive features.
One of my contributions to the project was creating the advertising on bus stops, buses, cross track, taxis and online, which had the aim to inform potential users when they are in the very situation ‘BigSister’ is targeting. With the help of the visual approach users were also reminded that they are looked after in their ‘current situation’.
