Constructed in 1908 and covering some 96 sinuous kilometres, the Vouga line promised a boost of the economic development of the Vale do Vouga region. Currently, it's the last Portuguese railway with a metric gauge, a technical feature that defines its charming personality. One hundred years later, this winding railway mostly lost its once magical character.
