Having laid the foundations and developed a reputation for putting on some of the finest parties in the UK’s ever-competitive festival calendar, the euphoria and high times of Bloc were dramatically cut short in 2012 after seven successful years of esteemed weekenders at some of Britain’s most cherished holiday camps. For all concerned it was a terrible demise for a festival that was revered for its eclecticism in electronic music, with the likes of Salt N Pepa, Aphex Twin, Grandmaster Flash and Orbital amongst others etching their status emphatically in Bloc headliner folklore up to it’s unforeseen closure at London’s Pleasure Fields.
