The final year of university for me was all about showing how far I had come in terms of jumping out of my comfort zone as a creative. In the past, especially during my college years, I have always been subjected to the use of a more of a neutral, natural toned colour palette in my work as opposed to more daring, bold colours. However, this changed during university and in particular my final year, so I wanted my final project to be a fitting ending with this element the key focus of my work. Expanding on my previous project, Neapolitan Tartan, I developed my inspiration of 1970s Railway posters advertising trips away to Scotland; I specifically chose the most bold colours from this palette and created some big blocks to really emphasise the tones, especially focussing on how the tones look when they cross over in the tartan effect, enhancing the boldness of this work.
