Book Cover Design

Competition Brief | 2019 As part of my University work, I had to choose a competition brief to fulfil and chose the competition brief set by PENGUIN books. The purpose of the brief is to redesign the children’s cover for the book Wonder by R. J. Palacio to bring the original and unforgettable story to new readers. The main aims for this brief were: ​ 1. To create an innovative and exciting design that will not only attract the target audience who are children aged between 8 - 12 but also parents who would most likely want to purchase the book for their children. 2. To design something completely different from the original and iconic book cover by Tad Carpenter that is also striking and imaginative. 3. The design has to ensure that the book remains a must-read for every child. 4. Lastly, the design must be executed competently with a strong use of typography.
