Book Design and Illustrations | Flowers for Sunaina

A beautiful story about Uma and Sunaina’s friendship that celebrates diverse abilities to create an inclusive world for everyone. It is an attempt to inculcate the values of inclusion at an early age and help children enjoy and embrace the diversity around them. The book contains 13 illustrations overall. While conceptualising and working on the design process for Flowers for Sunaina, there were a few elements that I strongly imbibed in my illustrations. Firstly, addressing the message of inclusion that forms the backbone of the book by creating unapologetic characters. Secondly, weaving my love for art and visuals, color into creating a happy world for Uma and Sunaina. And Last, to keep the colour palette bright and colourful for the kids and also make it depict the emotions of the story. The entire process of giving life to their world was an inspiring experience.
