I was commissioned to create an analogue ink based animation for “Bottle Chop”, a natural wine and deli shop based in Leeds. Where all of these past projects and research have lead me in my artistic journey. It’s a project based on natural wine, and although not the main focus for this project, the sensory involvement of music with wine is told within the piece’s narrative as well. Which touches upon my ‘sensory engagement’ and music theme I am wanting to explore deeply within my art work. The animation will be highlighted by its flowy transitions, much like wine's similar effects in flowy transition of sobriety to relaxation. It will be ink based and traditionally created because of the connection this process has to the natural winemaking overall. Natural winemaking is very rarely messed with by humans during its process from grape to wine. It is made with wild yeast, allowing it to transform at its own pace and become its own authentic identity. Ink has a wild spontaneity to it that mirrors some of the natural wine look. It is, in my opinion, the best art tool to represent both the wine and the animation itself.
