Bowl, as effect of a making.

  • Jacob Marcus Haggarty
As this is the start of my professional career as an artist and designer, I thought it would be a good idea to take advantage of one of the largest graduate shows for the crafts and design in London.
My work seeks to explore the boundaries between maker and material, by using processes that allow a certain amount of automation. The deep textures and irregular patterns are caused within the material itself and by the making process, as opposed to any deliberate design choice on my part.
Central to this is theory from Martin Heidegger and Robert Morris.
