Breathing Space

  • Naomi McGuire

As part of my BDes Interior and Environmental Design course I designed Breathing Space, an interactive installation series located on the University of Dundee campus encouraging students to practise mindful behaviour in its presence as a response to the rise in mental health disorders cause by the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. Inspired by the concept of 'the gap', the space between thoughts one experiences during a meditation session, the four installations spanned the gaps between buildings acting as pockets of emotional refuge for students.
