Brexit

  • Daniella Howe

This was my 1st project in my second year of university. The brief was to consider editorial typographic design for print and screen working from the theme of Brexit, specifically looking at the impact on the EU and UK citizens. We had to choose an article out of 4 provided and develop an identity as well being provided with a selection of images. This project was influential on me as a designer as I explored hand bound books for the first time and learnt that I enjoy these processes as well as learning more about typography and type setting with in an editorial design piece. I decided to create a powerful piece using the colour red not as a political colour but rather to hint to the sinister undertone of the topic. I carried this idea through the publication by using the French fold technique with a hidden message in red print on the underside of the pages.
