Wordpress structure and theme extension of new website; plus API development and data upload script.
Working as a subcontractor, I was tasked with working up the Wordpress post structure (custom posts & custom fields) for the rebuild of the BAR website. I also had to provide an API that enabled all Members to be able to generate a moving estimate on their own site, using an estimation engine on the BAR site. I added the Google Map API to the site to be able to calculate distance between collection points and delivery points of any move, then apply a set of charges unique to each Member to the collected parameters to create an estimate of the cost of moving. Finally, I wrote a script to both upload existing data into the new WP build, and to continue to maintain data sync between the website and the data held at the BAR offices.
