Budapest (1890-1910)

In the Austro-Hungarian empire the two capitals, Budapest and Vienna had a competition between them: which city can grow faster and become better in not just in terms of economy but also in an architectural and cultural way. I decided to look at one specific architect's work: Miklos Ybl. He was the most influential architect during that time. I followed how the capital was growing and improving with a huge percentage every year. Focused on windows: which were representing who is living in that house. Their lifestyle, wealth and social status.
