Burnt Roti presents: The Beauty of Being British Asian

Burnt Roti curated ‘The Beauty of Being British Asian’, an exhibition inspired from Nikita Marwaha’s original essay, which curiously looks at how British Asians navigate their dual identity.

Launch party was on the 16th August and the exhibition ran for one week. It was at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, showcasing the art of 15 multimedia artists and 5 spoken word artists. The night of the 16th saw queues run around the block, with a 2 hour wait to get in.
The exhibition was a success. The artists have since gone on to greater things - working with the Tate, presenting their own radio shows, doing talks at Cambridge University and so on.
Burnt Roti champions representation - this exhibition looked specifically at the British Asian diaspora - and looks to give a leg up to young creatives.
