"Càlid: is an intelligent dish for the future of high cuisine"
It is part of an intelligent tableware kit made for the world renowned restaurant El Celler de Can Roca. It is made by thermoactive materials that react to temperature while pouring hot soups inside. It opens like a blooming flower addapting to a spring consomé recipe in front of the dinner guests in their restaurant.
This project began as a research of new interaction patterns while eating, and the synergy with advanced materials study in Materfad, Center of Materials of Barcelona.
Càlid has been presented as an innovation example of the Roca Lab in the 'World Economic Forum in Dubai' and the 'Science and Cooking Course' in Harvard in 2014. Lately it has been selected to be exhibited into "De la Terra a la Lluna", a showcase of the 30th year career of the Roca brothers at the Robert Palace in Barcelona.
