This typography-based project was to highlight how severe the real OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) illness can be. It was designed to break down the misconception that the illness is just about cleaning and tidiness. It can, in fact, be highly debilitating for the people affected by it, acting as a mind bully pumping intrusive and negative thoughts repeatedly through the mind regarding close loved ones, religious beliefs and sex, as well as many other things. The University project brief set was to envisage a campaign in which a social, political, or health-related issue was partnered with a popular brand. Some paired things like knife crime with Nike, or climate change with WWF. I chose to pair this, perhaps somewhat ironically, with Carex handwash soap. A lot of research went into this, particularly having close contact with advocates within the OCD community, as I wanted to do justice for what they campaign for on a daily basis.
