Canchella Festival - brand identity

  • Alberto Mastroeni

Canchella is a concept for a festival that has been postponed endlessly due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The event’s final date is not revealed and its announcement crushes the hopes of ravers who thought their hedonistic lifestyle would resume in 2021, as is highlighted by the slogan “No Tunes No Vibes No Gatherings“. This project, however, also conveys the political message of trying to secure more financial support for the events industry, which has been unable to operate for the entirety of the pandemic, pushing many individuals from a vast variety of professions into financial and emotional distress. In order to showcase all the elements of the festival’s brand identity, a series of promotional posters were assembled, as well as a logo, a “no access“ wristband and a signpost for the undisclosed site. The chosen visual language is traditionally vibrant and bright. This is in intentional contrast with the reality of a nonexistent event with little frolic but much monotony.
