Yesterday, I had the pleasure of photographing the SS24 collection for AUGURI at The Studio Space ( IG thestudio_space ) owned by Barrie Gordon in North West London, located inside the China House. The location was ideal for a fashion shoot, offering a spacious and accommodating setting with easy access, parking, including a lift that made transporting my equipment a breeze. Commissioned to capture the latest AUGURI collection for their website and social media, the day demanded a versatile skill set. Modern photographers must adapt to diverse demands, and this session was no exception. I utilised a Canon R5 for traditional studio images against a carefully chosen backdrop, while also creating vertical video content suitable for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts, using a Sony FX30 camera. The setup was complex, requiring both flash and continuous lighting systems to be rigged simultaneously. However, once everything was in place, the workflow was smooth. It was invigorating to shoot over 30 different looks with three models throughout the day. Such experiences underscore the importance of having a diverse array of skills in today’s digital age. The ability to seamlessly transition between still photography and dynamic video content is crucial for meeting the evolving needs of clients in the fashion industry. This shoot not only allowed me to display my technical abilities but also provided an opportunity to creatively showcase AUGURI’s new collection, making it a thoroughly enjoyable and productive day. #LondonFashionPhotographer #FashionPhotography #CalvinChinthaka
