JxL shares the pleasure of working with Akilah Releford, a 20-something entrepreneur who has taken her dormitory-made beauty remedies to Ulta, Macys and her very own brick & mortar. Black / female-owned, made in the USA, vegan, and cruelty-free, MLC teamed up with us in Fall 2020 to re-brand, re-package, and re-launch the hero product lineup.

In August 2021, Beauty Independent announced that Mary Louise Cosmetics’ newly designed line up would be available in Macy’s Nationwide. This is in addition to their current residencies with Thirteen Lune and Verishop.
BEYOND THE PACKAGING
What you’ll see within this project is a visual collaboration of design and imagery that emphasizes the unique versatility of each serum and mask, a refreshed pack design paired with vibrant, floral, retro-style photography, a full iconography exploration and digital product renderings to showcase the new line for pre-launch promotion.
