Catch22 - Black History Month

  • Nathaniel Charalambous

I had the pleasure in partaking in Catch22's Black history illustration competition where I placed in the top 3. I put a lot of thought into this piece, I wanted it to shine spotlight on to Black creatives, celebrate our culture and inspire us to keep being creative. For the background of this piece, I took inspiration from African and Caribbean art and combine that with Keith Haring graffiti style. I also took inspiration from the Hackney Peace Carnival Mural trying to capture that same energy, colour, and style for the girl in the centre.
